| This remodel is a dramatic transformation of an outdated kitchen into a vibrant, inviting, and functional living
space. Without adding additional square footage a sense of spaciousness in this small area was achieved by rebuilding
a 1970's shed roof addition. The low 7'-0" ceiling and pantry alcove were replaced with a windowed breakfast
nook and a dormered ceiling that accommodates French doors and arched transom. The key feature of the kitchen is
an island work station built to replicate a fine piece of antique furniture with a distressed sage green and cherry
wood finish and hand planed solid wood top. Stainless steel appliances are teamed with solid cherry and glass
front cabinets. Ceramic floor and backsplash tiles along with a stained concrete counter tops and an earthy ochre
wall color create a rich, warm, traditional effect.
